Customer Service Associate

Job Description Summary

Customer service associates play a key role in our organization and contribute to our industry-leading reputation for superb service to help make our customers’ projects a success. As a customer service associate, you’ll respond to customer inquiries, guide customers through the purchasing process, make product or service recommendations and resolve post-order concerns.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answering phone, email or website live chat inquiries
  • Assisting customers with product information, pricing, lead times, and placing orders
  • Answering post-sale questions regarding order status, tracking, delivery
  • Resolving customer questions, requests or complaints in a timely and respectful manner
  • Assisting in-person walk-in customers with ordering, processing and pick-up
  • Entering orders and other sales information using our business software systems
  • Interface with shipping, product and other team members as needed to deliver a best-in-industry customer experience
  • Flexible scheduling available. Minimum 30 hours per week.
  • Other duties as management may deem necessary from time to time

Experience and Skills

  • Highly motivated and sales driven
  • Excellent communication skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Punctual, strong work ethic and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable with self-directed work output and ability to manage multiple simultaneous activities
  • Ability to tactfully and diplomatically handle difficult or stressful situations

Qualifications

  • A history of high-quality customer service interactions
  • 2+ years customer service, retail, inside sales, or call center experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows
  • Experience with metals, distribution or building material industries a plus
  • Proficiency with Intuit QuickBooks a strong plus
  • Spanish or Portuguese as a second language a strong plus
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
